Challenges
An event of such range requires the study of multiple factors. It wasn’t until 2017, when we organized the first event in the area, that an event of this size had ever held there. Especially for an area with little infrastructure due to few permanent residents and the distance of the area from large urban centers. So, we had to create a specialized team of 70 people, which would settle in the area until the event, minding all the needs of the organization in cooperation with the local community. One of the main problems we faced was safety issues. Our purpose was to follow the highest possible standards, and to be next to the athletes at their every step, as well as to the visitors who came to watch the event.
We delivered
The first race in 2017 was a milestone for the event! Both the athletes and the visitors loved the event, thus ensuring it would be an annual happening. Oceanman® Greece is not just a sporting event. With our organization, creativity and cooperation with the local community, we managed to offer a spectacle, recreation, and unique experiences that will be an unforgettable memory for all of us. Our hard work paid off both, by having 3,500+ visitors and 1,000 athletes from around the globe, as well as being awarded second place in the 2020 sports category Tourism Awards.
