Highlights

The island of Sao Miguel, combining all the above elements of incomparable natural beauty with the fine waves and sandy seabed it features, is the most suitable place for a fantastic Surf Trip.

Hike to the Sete Cidades Lakes: This wonderful combo of the green and the blue lake, hidden in the depths of the volcanic crater, unfolds before us after a beautiful two-hour hike through the island's lush forests.

Whale watching: In the Azores you have the opportunity to be close to the largest and most imposing sea creatures, the whales. By always adhering to the rules for the protection of underwater life, and with absolute respect for these wonderful marine mammals, an unprecedented contact is achieved that takes our breath away.

Furnas and Mosteiros Hot Springs: After a day full of surfing and adventure, the ultimate place for physical and mental relaxation is the natural hot springs providing a completely healing experience in a unique ambience.

Accommodation

Our daily program includes 2 hours of surf instruction (All levels) per day, from the certified instructors of WayOut Adventures, the Greek Surf Academy and the Ikaria Surf School, plenty of relaxing moments at the beach as well as some group excursions to places of interest in the area.

In addition to the teaching hours, the participants will have personal time to plan excursions and visits to the various attractions of the island independently of the rest of the group.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Departure from Athens and arrival in Lisbon early in the afternoon. Check-in to hotel rooms and free time to explore the beautiful capital.

DAY 2

Departure from Lisbon to Ponta Delgada. Check-in to the rooms and free time in the city.

DAY 3-4

Our days will be full of surfing and waves as well as many trips to the lakes and thermal baths of the island.

DAY 5

To get to Sao Miguel we will travel by air via Lisbon. We will spend one night there. The next day, in the morning we will fly to Ponta Delgada, where we will spend the rest of our trip, in front of the most beautiful waves of the Atlantic. For our transportation on the island we will have rented luxurious and comfortable vans for the duration of our stay. DAY 6

Fish, cheese, wine, beef and exotic fruits such as pineapple and passion fruit are flavors that every visitor to the beautiful Azores will enjoy in abundance. The most famous food of the Azores, that can be exclusively found in the village of Furnas in Sao Miguel, is Cozido. This Portuguese stew, slow-cooked in the lava of the island's hot volcanoes, offers an unforgettable taste from the belly of the earth. As for the fruits of the islands, Maracuja otherwise known as passionfruit, pineapple and tiny bananas are in every sweet treat, offering their beautiful aromas generously.

DAY 7-9

In Lisbon we will stay in a hotel, in the central square of the city. For our stay in Sao Miguel we chose hostel rooms at the heart of the paved capital overlooking the beautiful marina.

DAY 10

The activity of surfing shows a significant growth in recent years, as it is an excellent form of sport as well as an ideal reason for traveling around the world. Easy and fun in its first steps but at the same time inexhaustible and with a huge scope for development and specialization, it enchants those who try it from the very first time. For your introduction to the world of surfing we have chosen one of the dreamiest destinations, the distant Azores. There with the help of our experienced guidance, you will have the opportunity to learn the secrets of this wonderful activity and practice its techniques.
