BC Canada Ski Roadtrip

Highlights

Our adventure begins in Vancouver, the capital of the state of British Columbia that is consistently in the first place in the list of cities with the best living conditions. Incomparable natural beauty, multiculturalism, intense nightlife, bustling but elegant neighborhoods, seafood flavors and smells, make the city fascinating. During our visit there, some of the things we MUST DO are:

Capilano Suspension Bridge: This is an amazing bridge made of cedar wood and hemp rope, built in a rainforest that connects the two banks of the Capilano River.

Night skiing: Vancouver is a skiing paradise for lovers of the sport, and one of the few places that offers the unique experience of night skiing. With over half of Grouse Mountain's pistes illuminated at night and views of the twinkling city lights, evening descents are like a dream.

Aquarium Marine Science Center: This is a huge aquarium, which has been operating since 1956 and houses all the animals of aquatic life, offering amazing visuals. In its premises you will have the opportunity to see 70.000 animals, such as sea elephants, whales, beavers, seals, dolphins and much more.

Ice Hockey: Watching an ice hockey match, one of the most popular sports in Canada, of the top team of the city, Vancouver Canucks, will make us a part of the pulse of the locals for a bit.

Accommodation:

What makes our trip special is that most of our overnight stays will be on four wheels. Luxurious, comfortable triple and quadruple capacity RVs will take us to the most beautiful parts of British Columbia and offer us beautiful moments of relaxation and warmth. For our stay in Vancouver, we chose to stay in double rooms of a classic beauty hotel in the heart of the city.

Activities

The main goal of our trip is to practice skiing and enjoy the unique Canadian terrain. During the skiing days, ski guiding will be provided by WayOut Adventures guides.

A prerequisite for participants is to be able to comfortably descend a red piste with their boots parallel and to have previous experience in off-piste (unspoiled snow) descents.

Itinerary

20/02: Departure from Athens and arrival in Vancouver.

20/02 - 29/02: We will pick up the RVs early in the morning and the journey of action and adventure will begin. Over the 9 days that follow, we will cross most of British Columbia stopping at 5 of the best ski resorts in the world. The RVs give us the freedom to choose for ourselves, based on the weather/road conditions and of course the mood of the whole group, how many days we will stay at each stop of our journey. The program is fully organized, but also flexible.

28/02-29/02: We make our way back to Vancouver

29/02-2/03: Two days to discover Vancouver. Accommodation in a central city hotel and rental vans, so that we are free to travel about.

2/03: Departure from Vancouver to Athens.

Local Information

Travel documents: Greek nationals will not need a visa to visit Canada. However, a valid passport and the issuance of an electronic travel authorization (eTA) are essential for their trip to the country. Finally, the issuance of an international driving license (ELPA) is mandatory for the use of any vehicle.

Currency: The currency of Canada is the Canadian Dollar (Exchange at Vancouver Airport)

Time: British Columbia is GMT -7 to Greece.

Climate: The temperature during the period we will visit the country will range from -10 to +10 degrees Celsius.

Transportation: Our flight from Athens to Vancouver is with British Airlines with one intermediate stop. Our magical Roadtrip begins from Vancouver and after enjoying 10 days of endless descents on BC's best ski places, we arrive in the city of Calgary where we will take a domestic flight back to Vancouver. We will stay in Vancouver for two nights and from there with an intermediate stop, we will fly back to Athens.
